Frankie Dettori to ride in the Stockholm Cup International
7 September 2023 14:22
For the first time ever, jockey Frankie Dettori will compete at new Stockholm racecourse Bro Park on September 17th.
Frankie Dettori is set to ride the title defender, Hard One to Please, in the Stockholm Cup International (Gr.3).
Annike Bye Hansen, the trainer of Hard One to Please, could barely contain her excitement. “I'm not sure it gets any bigger than this,” Hansen remarked. “It's an immense honor that he wishes to ride my horse. We're dedicated to ensuring Hard One to Please is in top form for the Stockholm Cup.”
While this will be Frankie Dettori's premiere at Bro Park, it's not his first visit to Sweden. Dettori has competed at the now-defunct Täby Galopp racecourse twice, and celebrated victory in two races. The last time he was seen competing in Sweden was in 2008.
Fans are eagerly awaiting September 17th at Bro Park, where they might be treated to Dettori's iconic "flying dismount" should he secure a win at the Stockholm Cup International. It will most likely be the last chance to witness Dettori compete in Sweden before he concludes his illustrious career at the end of the season.
